Free Household Chemical Drop-Off Day 4th May 2024

Did you know household hazardous waste can cause fires in bins and garbage trucks? Dispose of your unwanted chemical wastes the correct way at our free Chemical Drop Off Day on Saturday 4 May 2024 from 8:00am to 4:00pm at Greenbank and Beenleigh Waste and Recycling Facilities.
You can dispose of up to 10 litres of each of the chemicals listed below (commercial quantities won't be accepted):
- Solvent and water-based paint
- Photographic solutions
- Pesticides
- Pharmaceuticals
- Arsenic-based materials
- Acids
- Alkalis
- Solvents
- Pool chlorine
- Domestic fire extinguishers (full or empty)
- Petrol
- Butane gas cartridges
- Helium canisters and cylinders
- Oily water
- Engine coolant
Please note we will not accept materials that do not fall into the categories described above.
Please make sure your containers are sealed and in good condition (not leaking).
Note: Paint can be dropped off free anytime at any council waste facility. Limits apply - 100 litres of paint per visit.
