Details

Personal Hardship Assistance Scheme

  • Structural Assistance Grants – up to $50,000 for uninsured, income-tested owner-occupiers towards the repair or replacement of a disaster damaged dwelling to return it to a safe and habitable condition.
  • Essential Household Contents Grants – up to $1,765 for individuals and up to $5,300 for couples or families to replace destroyed essential household contents like bed linen and white goods.

Essential Services Safety and Reconnection Scheme

  • Income-tested grants to help uninsured residents reconnect damaged services like electricity, gas and water. Up to $5,000 per household.

Disaster Assistance Loans

  • Up to $250,000 for producers and small businesses and $100,000 for not-for-profits to repair or replace damaged assets like plant and equipment, to repair premises, or to replace stock and maintain liquidity.

Essential Working Capital Loans

  • Up to $100,000 for producers, small businesses and not-for-profits to allow for the continuation of operations, including paying wages, rents or rates, purchasing items like fuel, fodder and water, or for the transportation of livestock and produce. Contact: QRIDA on 1800 623 946 or visit Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority.
  • Up to $5,000 for primary producers to help with the movement of stock, feed, machinery, fuel, water, and building or fencing materials.

Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment

A one-off payment of $1,000 per eligible adult and $400 per eligible child, will be made available to households, who have suffered a significant loss because of the disaster. More information is available on the Services Australia website.
