Crime Stoppers Queensland is a registered charity and volunteer community organization. Their purpose is to empower the community to provide information that supports the solving and prevention of crime. The organisation has a vision of a safer community and a safer Australia.
Crime Stoppers efforts encourage people to share what they know, especially for cross-border crimes like illicit drug manufacture, importation and distribution, wanted fugitives and illegal firearms.
Volunteers in Policing (ViPs) are based with police where they work to address customer service, community safety and crime prevention needs in the community. The range of tasks they undertake complement the roles and responsibilities of paid police officers and staff members. Our Community Safety Program partners with ViPs to deliver community safety and crime prevention initiatives like Safe Plates.
If you would like to acknowledge the work of an individual or volunteer group, why not nominate them for a Safe City Award? The annual City of Logan Safe City Awards acknowledge the work of volunteer groups, individuals, not-for-profit groups, government agencies and businesses within the City of Logan who contribute to making our neighbourhoods more welcoming, inclusive and safe.
