Volunteering opportunities

Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre is seeking volunteers for its Repair Café project. The purpose of a Repair Café is to reduce waste, overconsumption, and planned obsolescence. Repair Cafés can reignite the do-it-together and "do it yourself" spirit and strengthen social cohesion.

Available roles include:

  • 240V electrical repairers (must be a licenced electrician in QLD)
  • Low voltage (12V or lower) electrical repairs
  • Leather repairers
  • Handymen/handywomen
  • Technology repairers and trouble-shooters
  • Bicycle repairers
  • Furniture repair and woodwork
  • Session coordinators (administration, organisation, and minor catering) 
  • This volunteer opportunity is a 3 to 4 hour commitment for one Saturday per month.
