Community Benefit Fund

The Community Benefit Fund (CBF) is a discretionary fund that allows councillors to meet requests for financial assistance from eligible organisations for a community purpose.

CBF operates under, and allocates an annual budget in accordance with, sections 201B and 202 of the Local Government Regulation 2012.

Funding available

The total amount budgeted as discretionary funds is $212,541.55 for the 2023 / 2024 financial year.

The amounts available for allocation by each councillor are:

Division 2023/2024 funds available for allocation
Mayor $16,349.35
Divisions 1 to 12 $16,349.35

 

Discretionary funds will not be allocated for capital works of Council.

Application timeframes

CBF is currently closed for applications and will re-open in July 2024.

Eligibility

Please ensure that your project or activity is not eligible for another Council grant before considering CBF.

Councillors are authorised to support eligible requests for funding at their discretion in accordance with the CBF policy and procedure.

Applications must be made through SmartyGrants.

Please note that you will be required to log in to SmartyGrants, and we suggest using the SmartyFile login feature to maintain your applications.

Incomplete or hard copy applications will not be accepted.
