About the park

Greenwood Lakes offers a range of facilities and activities including bushwalking, picnic tables, walk the dog (on a leash) and bird watching.

Situated on the banks of Oxley Creek, this park is a haven for birds and other wildlife species.

The landscape you see today is vastly different to the picturesque winding Creek of the 1920's. The large lakes and terraced banks visible today were carved out by many years of commercial sand operations. However, with the demise of the sand mining the area is slowly returning to its natural condition and forms part of a key wildlife corridor running from Brisbane to Beaudesert.

The boardwalk and viewing platform provide great opportunities for watching water birds on the lake area.
