About the park

Green light for new Springwood Park ring road

The next phase of upgrade works at Springwood Park is set to begin.

A new internal roadway will replace the existing ring road and parking facilities will be upgraded, including provision of more disabled parking spaces.

Stormwater infrastructure, roadway lighting, retaining works and pathways will also be installed.

Once the project is completed the area around the roadway will be landscaped with new turf and trees.

The Anzac memorial the park is being retained. The playground will be undergoing an upgrade as part of Stage 2 of the project.

The upgrade, which is expected to take about four months (weather permitting), is supported by $1,000,000 from Council under Division 1 Local Infrastructure Program (LIP) funding ,  additional funding from Parks asset replacement and Major parks program and $500,000 from the Queensland Government.

The first stage of upgrade works at the park featured a new carpark and a dog off-leash area and the toilets were replaced.

Weddings and functions

A tropical garden and lush, manicured lawns make Springwood Park a popular choice for many couples for their wedding day.
