Disability parking

Disability parking permits

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) issues disability parking permits. Disability permits are unable to be applied for through council.

You can apply for a disability parking permit if you are unable to walk or find it hard to walk due to a medical condition or disability.

If you park in a disability parking bay without displaying a permit, you may be fined. The permit number and expiry date must be visible from outside the vehicle.

There are two types of disability permits an Australian Disability Parking Permit and a Queensland Disability Parking Permit.

For more information about disability parking permits and conditions of use, please call TMR on 132 380 or visit Queensland Government – Parking permits.
