Feral pigs

Pigs were introduced to Australia from England by the First Fleet. Escaped pigs soon established themselves in the wild, and the feral pig is now one of Queensland’s most widespread and damaging pests.

Feral pigs prey on native animals, damage crops and livestock, spread weeds, cause soil erosion, dirty water sources and carry diseases.

For more information about feral pigs, please visit Queensland Government – Restricted or invasive animals or call 13 74 68.
