Documents

The Grand Plaza Drive and Eastern Road is a joint state and local government initiative, proudly supported by Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme. This project provides a new link in our shared pathway network at Browns Plains that delivers greater connectivity to local public transport, shopping centre precincts and educational facilities.

By improving our off-road connections, we are building a healthier and greener city. Off-road paths make it safer, easier and more desirable for people to use the path for recreation or travel.

Project features

The project will deliver:

  • a safer and more accessible 2.5 meter shared concrete pathway for pedestrians and bike riders
  • raised crossings to prioritise access for pedestrians and riders
  • upgraded kerb ramps to provide smoother access between the road and the path
  • dedicated bicycle lanes for improved safety and visibility
  • landscaping enhancements along the shared pathway.

Project benefits

The shared pathway will deliver a range of benefits including:

  • improved access to walking, running and bike riding opportunities link to other shared pathways on Mount Lindesay Highway Service Road and in Mount Waller Park
  • provide a safer, easier and more desirable pathway for recreation or community
  • provide more opportunities for car-free journeys across South East Queensland by improving access to Logan’s active travel network
  • boosting the local economy by attracting residents and visitors and connecting them with shops, business and services in the area.

Project impacts

We will make every effort to minimise disruption. Given the nature of work, some temporary construction impacts can be expected:

  • works are expected to take place primarily at night to reduce and limit impact to local residents and businesses.
  • changed traffic conditions including reduced speed limits, road or lane closure and detours (as needed).
  • increased noise, dust and vibration
  • temporary loss of parking and driveway access
  • temporary footpath closures.
