Before you start

If you are considering trade from a location that is not an approved market or event, contact our planning team to understand if any permits are needed or if restrictions apply.

You should ensure the site has the correct land use for a food stall and understand if any Development Approval is needed or if any restrictions apply.

How to apply

To apply, please download and complete the temporary food licence – markets and events application (PDF 227 KB) and return it to us with full payment. You will also need to include a scale plan of the operation and a layout plan. 

Delays in the assessment and approval process will occur if you don’t include all the required information.

Process once an application is submitted

  • Submit a temporary food stall licence application to us using the application for temporary food licence – markets and events form.
  • We will process your application within the legislative timeframe. We will contact you if we need more information.
  • When we approve your plans, application and licence, you can run your business, ensuring you comply with your licence conditions.
