Logan Reserve Road upgrade

We are designing a project to upgrade 5 kilometres of Logan Reserve Road from Chambers Flat Road to Halcyon Way.

The upgrade of Logan Reserve Road will cater for the future traffic growth from Priority Development Areas (PDAs) like Yarrabilba and Greater Flagstone.

The project is included in our Integrated local transport plan, for more information, please download our  Way2Go Connecting Logan (PDF 1310 KB).

This project is being delivered under our Capital Roadworks and Drainage Program. The project is funded from our source funds and contributions from developers towards trunk road network requirements.

Project features

This project will deliver the following elements:

  • a wider road reserve (traffic lanes), one travel lane in each direction, as well as a breakdown lane on each side of the road
  • kerb and channel to improve road drainage
  • upgrades to underground drainage pipes and culverts
  • improvements at eight (8) intersections along the project route including signals at key locations, and
  • associated verge works including sections of concrete footpath and reconstruction of property driveways.

Project benefits

The Logan Reserve Road upgrade project will deliver a range of benefits, including:

  • improved traffic flow and less congestion
  • quicker and more reliable journey times
  • a safer environment as traffic increases for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.

Property impacts

To achieve a project of this scale, we will need to acquire land from some properties.

We aim to minimise property impacts as much as possible. Until we are further into the design phase we do not know the precise impacts on individual properties. We will contact affected property owners to discuss the impacts as soon as the proposed plans are available. We expect these plans will be available in late September or early October 2020.

Project timing

The project is in the design phase, with design activities expected to continue through 2020.

Pending approvals and funding allocation, construction work may start in early to mid-2022.

We will keep the local community informed throughout this project.
