This petition is for Logan City Council to help with creating a local wildlife hospital and sanctuary. This will help with the increased demand of animals needing veterinary care and rehabilitation.

The need for wildlife rescue and treatment has never been higher due to increasing pressure on wildlife from:

  • development and the consequent loss of habitat
  • increasing traffic and the introduction of domestic animals.

There are two major Wildlife Hospitals in South East Queensland:

  • RSPCA
  • Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.

These Wildlife Hospitals currently treat over 100 animals per day.

For wildlife rescuers and carers in Logan, getting animals to a wildlife hospital is challenging. This creates issues for those animals needing veterinary attention.
