Three Knox family members, Reg, Missy and Beverley, are seated on chairs side-by-side placed near Scrubby Creek.

Missy Knox:

Now remember, this app is a 360 degree experience.

Description:

There is a blue mouse icon on a black background and a yellow hand icon with the pointer finger clicking on the left mouse button.

Missy Knox:

So move around the screen, click and hold the left mouse button. Keep holding down the left mouse button to move.

Description:

There is a 360 degree moving image of an area near Scrubby Creek with green grass surrounded by trees, the sun is shining through some of the trees. As the blue mouse icon moves left then right; the image moves as well showing more of the area.

Yellow text is anchored to certain spots, displaying the name of fauna in those areas – the names ‘Dwarf Boronia’, ‘Hoop Pine’ and ‘Hairy Guinea Flower’ are shown. Description:

The mouse cursor clicks on the name ‘Hairy Guinea Flower’ and a black slide pops up showing the name, scientific name and image of the yellow flower. Next to the black slide is a large blue high volume icon to signal viewers to turn their sound on.

To get the most out of this experience, make sure you have your sound turned up.

Description:

The 360 degree camera is placed in tall green grass on the river bank of Scrubby Creek. A large slide is placed over the top of the footage displaying a page from ‘Wajin: The Guardian of Scrubby Creek’ with a photo of Reg Knox, the Logan City Council logo and information detailing the author, illustrator and all of the other contributions that made the Wajin project possible.

Below the slide, in the grass there is a green home button. The mouse cursor moves the image around showing more of the river, trees and long grass. There is an arrow icon in the grass and the mouse cursor hovers over this button making a white circle appear around the icon.

Missy Knox:

Every scene has a home button which looks like a house, and a next arrow which will take you to the next scene. Hover your mouse over the button to choose your direction, you will see a circle start to appear.

Description:

And when it is complete you will be transported to the next scene or home.

Description:

After the opening credits press the green arrow, you will find yourself at a pier overlooking Scrubby Creek.

Description:

There is a view of Scrubby Creek from a pier, in the distance you can see the bank on the other side of the creek, trees and powerlines. Sitting on Scrubby Creek are two green buttons, one has the letter ‘I’ and one has an icon of a house.

The mouse cursor moves the image to show the ‘I’ button individually, more of Scrubby Creek can be seen, as well as the wooden pier. The mouse then moves the image to the book icon and more of the creek and pier is shown.

The mouse rests on the ‘I’ icon and a white circle forms around it.

In this scene you will see two green buttons, a button with the letter ‘i’ and a button with an image of a book. The ‘i’ button will take you to find information about the animals and plants that you may find in Scrubby Creek.

Description:

Did you know?
The platypus is a special mammal that can lay eggs like a bird and make milk like a mammal. This is called a monotreme.
They are excellent swimmers that find frogs, fish, insects and crustaceans with electroreceptors on their bills.
Conservation tip: Help protect the platypus by keeping our waterways free of plastic.

Missy Knox:

Keep an eye out for any words or animals that pop up on the screen. To access more information, press the word or ‘i’ button on each animal.
