Impounded animals

The information on this page is intended to help reunite animals with their owners.

All impounded animals are displayed below. This does not apply to seized animals or those involved in a dog attack. These animals are placed on hold while our investigators engage directly with owners.

Council ensures all impounded animals are identified and registered before release.

What you need to know

  • Animals are scanned for a microchip on arrival and before release.
  • If no microchip is found, your pet must be microchipped before release.
  • If your pet is not registered, it must be registered before release
  • If you are picking up your pet you will need to pay a release fee, contact our team for a quote based on your animals circumstances

Repeat impoundments

  • Multiple impoundments may lead to inspections, compliance notices, and penalties.

Identifiable cats and dogs are kept at the Animal Management Centre for up to seven days. We will make every effort to reunite animals with their owners during this time. Surrendered or impounded cats and dogs that are not claimed by their owners will become the property of Logan City Council.

This page is regularly updated during business hours. We apologise for any technical issues that may prevent updates.

You can go to the Animal Management Centre at 213 Queens Road, Kingston to look for or to collect your animal.
