Amendments on consultation

If we are proposing major changes to the Logan Planning Scheme, we will make those changes available for public viewing and feedback after they have been checked by the Queensland Government. During the period of consultation, you can make a submission (have your say) either supporting or objecting to all or part of the proposed amendments.

We will consider all properly made submissions before the amendment is progressed. We will notify those who have given us their feedback about how their submission has been dealt with. We also give the Queensland Government a summary of the matters raised in properly made submissions, and explain how they have been dealt with.

Making a submission

Submissions on proposed amendments to the Logan Planning Scheme can be made during the public consultation period. You can submit your feedback:

  • online (through the submissions button or menu option in the Logan ePlan)
  • by email to strategicplanning@logan.qld.gov.au (please include the amendment title in the subject line)

Mixed Use Zone Amendment

 

The purpose of the proposed Mixed Use Zone Amendment is to implement Council’s vision and strategy for employment land in Logan. In particular, the amendment:

  • introduces four precincts in the Mixed use zone
  • identifies preferred land uses for each new precinct
  • optimises the zoning of industrial land.

Consultation was undertaken from Monday 7 February 2022 to Friday 11 March 2022 (inclusive). 

Council has reviewed submissions received and the proposed changes are now being reviewed by the Queensland Government.

Health Care Service Amendment

 

The purpose of the proposed Health Care Service Amendment is to improve the regulation of Health care services by providing better guidance on location, design and amenity.  The proposed changes also guide the location, separation distances, indoor waiting area size and mechanical surveillance for pharmacotherapy clinics.

Council has received approval from the Queensland Government and is preparing to adopt the amendment.

Housing and Lot Diversity Amendment

 

The purpose of the proposed Housing and Lot Diversity Amendment is to:

  • align the requirements for subdivisions (reconfiguring a lot) in the Low density residential zone and Rural residential zone with community expectations through changes in lot size and frontage requirements
  • establish lot frontage diversity requirements for larger scale residential developments
  • remove ‘equivalent dwellings’ for Dual occupancy to align with the above changes.

Major Planning Scheme Amendment 2021

 

The purpose of the proposed Major Planning Scheme Amendment 2021 is to make various major changes to multiple sections of the planning scheme and planning scheme policies to address new policy, rectify operational matters, improve consistency, ensure the planning scheme remains contemporary and remove undue regulation.

Properly made submissions

To be properly made, a submission must:

  • be made in writing and be signed by each person making the submission, unless it is made electronically
  • be received by Council during the consultation period (on or before the last day)
  • include the name and residential or business address of each person making the submission
  • state the grounds for the submission, and the facts and circumstances relied on to support the grounds
  • state a postal or electronic address for service relating to the submission.
