REDcycle and soft plastics

Soft plastics could previously be recycled at many major supermarkets through a free program known as REDcycle. The REDcycle program has been paused so currently there is no recycling method for soft plastics. Please place your soft plastics in your general waste bin.

Types of plastics that could previously be recycled through REDcycle, but now must go in your general waste bin

  • Plastic shopping bags
  • Bread, rice, pasta, lolly and cereal bags
  • Biscuit packs (but not the trays)
  • Frozen food bags
  • Bubble wrap
  • Fruit and vegetable bags and netting
  • Toilet paper packaging and similar product packaging
  • Old green bags (and other re-usable bags).
