Mowing

Residents are responsible for mowing the nature strips in residential areas. In some cases, residents can ask us to mow their nature strip due to disability or medical reasons.

Gardens and artificial turf on footpaths

We encourage tree planting and beautification of our nature strips, but we need to make sure that gardens don’t cause any safety issues.

Shipping containers and skip bins on footpaths

We may permit you to put a shipping container or skip bin on the footpath or nature strip area for up to 14 days.

You must ask for approval to make sure the shipping container or skip bin does not cause any safety issues. We will not approve applications for shipping containers to be placed over concrete pathways or on the roadway.

New footpaths

Requests for new footpath are considered according to these criteria:

• potential use
• providing access and inclusion for all
• completing missing footpath links to achieve a connected network.
