Council cabs

The Council Cabs service can take you and your carer (you will need a Carer Card for a carer to be eligible for free transport) from home to your nearest major shopping centre and back.

The cost is only $2 per person each way.

We subsidise the program and TransitCare - Community Flyer provide the service.

The service is available in most Logan suburbs. It operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays depending on your location. Some suburbs will have a choice of centres on different days, depending on what shopping centres are close by.

To be eligible, you must be an aged 65 years or over. Your driver may ask to see evidence of your age.

To use the Council Cabs service:

  • call TransitCare on 1300 153 636 by 11:00am the day before you wish to use the service and ask to book a Logan Council Cab
  • a Community Flyer will pick you up from your home at about 10:00am on your service day and take you to the nearest shopping centre
  • you will have plenty of time to shop, have a haircut, enjoy morning tea and run errands
  • a taxi will collect you at around 1:30pm and take you home.

You are welcome to carry 3 bags home in the vehicle.

You can now travel to more shopping centres in Logan. You can only travel once per week, but you now have options to travel to alternative shopping centres.
