Sport and recreation funding

We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the Logan community. We do this by working with local sport and recreation organisations.

Active people – travel assistance grants

Your event may be impacted by the health directives and travel restrictions currently enforced by the Federal and State Government. These restrictions could even result in your nominated event being postponed or cancelled.

Due to this, we have changed the funding guidelines and successful applicants will now be able to apply for funding up to six (6) months after the event start date.

Applicants will no longer be able to apply for funding prior to the event date.

Recipients of the grant will need to provide evidence that the event was held and will also need to submit proof of payment for expenses incurred. This can be done by submitting the application form attached to your SmartyGrants profile.

This process will remain in place for the foreseeable future as we continue to manage the current situation.

We provide funding to help with the cost of participating in representative sport. Grants can be used for all types of representative sport, to help pay for:

  • travel and accommodation expenses
  • compulsory competition fees
  • compulsory competition uniforms.
