Sports, recreation and community funding

We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the Logan community by working with local sport and recreation organisations.

Active people – Travel assistance grants

We provide funding to help with the cost of participating in representative sport. Our Active people – Travel assistance grants are available in partnership with Brisbane Lions Australian Football Club.

Grants can be used for all types of representative sport, to help pay for:

  • travel and accommodation expenses
  • compulsory competition fees
  • compulsory competition uniforms.

Eligible applicants can apply for up to:

  • $300 for all state and national events
  • $500 for all international events
  • $300 for international events held in Australia.

You can apply for a maximum of $1,000 per financial year. You can submit one application per funding round

Active people – Club equipment

Our Active people – Club equipment program helps clubs and organisations to buy the equipment they need for training and game days.

This grant is available thanks to our partnership with Brisbane Lions Australian Football Club.

How to apply

Active spaces – Maintenance

Clubs and organisations can apply for funds to help with high-priority maintenance projects.

You can apply for items such as:

  • canteen/kitchen maintenance
  • facility maintenance
  • playing field maintenance
  • hard court surface maintenance.

You can apply for matched funding up to $5,000.

How to apply

Active spaces – Upgrade or new facility

Our Active spaces: Upgrade or new facility program supports organisations to prepare funding submissions for external funding.

External funding sources include the Queensland Government's Get in the Game – Get Playing Places and Spaces Fund and the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

If you successfully apply to our Active spaces – Upgrade or new facility program, we will work with your organisation to prepare an application for suitable external funding.

Active organisations – Grant writer

This program helps organisations to source funding with support from a professional grant writer.

The program also gives you skills, knowledge and experience to help you with future grant submissions.

The program is available to not-for-profit, incorporated, sport, recreation and community organisations.
