Before you start an ERA

If you are starting a new environmentally relevant activity (ERA), taking over or making changes to an existing ERA, you will need to consider planning, building, and plumbing approvals.

Planning

Before submitting your application, you should make sure that the site has the correct land use for the proposed business and if any Development Approval is needed.

Plumbing approval

Environmental authorities may need plumbing and drainage approval for certain activities. This includes if you do not have access to a sewerage connection and have on-site sewage facilities.
