Millions of Australians make a difference in their local community by volunteering each year.
As a volunteer, you can build new skills, meet new people and add variety to your work experience. You can also enjoy working for something that interests you or help to create change in areas that are important to you.
Adult Literacy Tutors
Logan City Libraries needs volunteers with previous teaching or tutoring experience to deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions to adults in our library spaces.
Tutors are required at our libraries located at Underwood, Woodridge, Marsden, Browns Plains, Beenleigh and Shailer Park.
Tutors help patrons from non-English speaking backgrounds as well as patrons whose first language is English but wish to improve their reading and writing skills.
Library staff are available to support with suitable resources for adult literacy sessions. Tutors usually meet with a client once a week for an hour. Tutors may also like to tutor more than one client.
