School and community waste education program

Our free Waste Education Program provides presentations and tours of the Browns Plains waste and recycling facility to local kindergartens and schools.

The presentations give teachers and students the opportunity to learn about waste minimisation tips and tricks from our experts. The modules developed for the Preschool, Primary and High School waste education program align with several strands of the Australian Curriculum.  Presentation topics include:

  • Littering and the environment
  • Waste and recycling services
  • Waste reduction and the 3 R’s
  • Organic waste, worm farms and composting

Schools can book one free tour of the Browns Plains waste and recycling facility each year. The tour includes travelling around the facility in a 60-seater bus. Schools can book one or two tours within a day.
