School and community waste education program

Watch Out Waste

Watch Out Waste is a free environmental education program for Logan City kindergartens, schools and community groups.

The program includes presentations and tours of the Browns Plains Waste and Recycling facility.

Some of the topics covered in the presentation include:

  • Waste and recycling
  • Nature's recyclers
  • Litter and the environment
  • Think Food – Rethink Waste
  • Environmental impacts of waste.

Schools

Schools can book one free tour of the Browns Plains Waste and Recycling Facility each year. The tour includes travelling around the facility in a 60-seater bus. Schools can book one or two tours within a day.

Kindergartens and early learning centres

The Watch Out Waste kindy education program is available to kindergartens and early learning centres in the City of Logan. It offers training and support to early childhood educators to reduce waste and landfill in their organisation.

This program will start in early 2021. For more information or to express your interest please download and fill in the Watch Out Waste - kindy program and form (PDF 9.7 MB).
