Yarrabilba community hub

The Yarrabilba community hub is a new community centre we are delivering through an innovative partnership.

Our project partners are:

  • the Queensland Government
  • Logan City Council
  • Brisbane Catholic Education
  • Lendlease.

Yarrabilba is growing rapidly, with the population expected to reach 50,000 when fully developed. This project is one part of a community facilities network which will help meet the growing demand for services and spaces.

The Yarrabilba community hub will respond to the needs and priorities of the community. It allows partners to pool resources and provide one integrated facility.

The Yarrabilba community hub is planned to open in early 2022.

We are currently designing the Yarrabilba community hub. The community hub design will be flexible to respond to the changing needs of the community over time.

The site is located on Basalt Drive, between the Yarrabilba State Secondary College and San Damiano College (opening 2021).

The vision for the Yarrabilba community hub at this stage is “an inclusive, engaging and responsive precinct inspiring a thriving community to connect, learn and earn".

The community hub will allow the community to connect with each other, and access valuable support services. It will also provide learning and employment pathways through training and development. Given the hub location, a dedicated youth space will be an important part of the community hub.
