This funding provides financial support to organisations to respond to community priorities. The projects or initiatives delivered should add to the social and community development of the city.
Grants are open for organisations that meet the “community purpose” in Council’s Grants to Community Organisations Policy. This is defined as activities that:
- encourage a vibrant, engaged and resilient community
- build on the strengths in the local community
- value local collaboration and partnerships
- encourage participation in community life and foster social cohesion.

Community Project Grants
- Applications are received in highly competitive rounds per year.
- Please note that we cannot fund applications that occur before the outcomes are advised.
Important notice: With both Queensland Seniors Month and Queensland Mental Health Week approaching in October 2025, we are enouraging our community to apply for funding to support community projects and programs that foster long term outcomes exclusively for seniors and/or mental health.

Community Response Grants
- Applications for 2025/2026 financial year will reopen in July 2025. Further information on the 2025/2026 opening dates will be updated on the website when dates are finalised.
