Mobile food vehicles are required to have one food business licence from the council area where the vehicle is registered and garaged. This one licence allows them to operate in any Queensland Council area.
We will only licence a mobile food vehicle registered to an address within the City of Logan. You must provide proof of the registered address with your application.
Before applying, find out any limitations, restriction or if any permits are needed to trade from your proposed location.

Delays in the assessment and approval process will occur if you don’t include all the information required.
Process once application is submitted
- After the application form is submitted it will be processed within the legislative timeframe.
- We will contact you if we need more information.
- When we approve your plans, you can start construction or fit-out.
- Upon completion of the fit-out, contact us to arrange an inspection before operating.
- When we approve your licence, you can then open your business making sure you comply with your licence conditions.
Renovations and alterations
If you are making changes like renovating an existing licensed mobile food vehicle you will need to download and complete the Food business licence application, restoration or amendment (PDF 88 KB) form to amend your licence.
Licence transfers
If you are buying a mobile food vehicle with an existing licence, you will need to apply for a change of ownership.
