Information for real estate and solicitors

Information for solicitors

You can register to pay for rates searches and lodge requests for property searches online. If you sign up as a registered user, you won’t have to enter your details each time you request a search.

Applying for a search

To apply for a search, see Applying for a search.

The timeframe for each search type is outlined on the forms.

We appreciate that doing searches before you buy a property can be time consuming. We aim to help you to make this process as easy as possible.

We encourage you to allow at least 3 extra business days on top of our processing times when you negotiate your contract timeframe. This will allow you to discuss any questions with us.

Due to the high number of searches we process, we are unable to speed up any request outside the timeframes. We do not offer fast-track service.

Access requirements

If you order a full planning and development certificate or a building and plumbing inspection report you need to organise access to the property. This is so a staff member can do the inspection.

Please arrange for access to the land within five business days of starting the search so there is no delay in supplying the results.

Information for real estate agents

We have a number of tools which can help professionals involved in the property transaction process.

Understanding a property and its value in the market

Our Development Enquiry Tool tool can help you:

  • find recent development applications and approvals given in the past month
  • search the current status of a development application
  • see the zoning and planning constraints affecting the property.

By doing these checks, you will be able to give your customer the correct information about zoning and other general information.
