Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum

Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum has more than 20 buildings of historical significance. The region’s first church, school, boot-maker’s shop and post office were in the Beenleigh area. The homes are set up as house museums with old furniture and equipment on display.

Kingston Butter Factory

The Kingston Butter Factory was built in 1907 and reclad in brick in 1932. It played an important role in the region's dairy history until the factory closed in 1983.

The iconic building has been transformed into the Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct, and now plays host to premier arts and cultural events. The facility features an outdoor stage, an indoor theatre, the Living Museum of Logan and so much more.

Mayes Cottage

Mayes Cottage is Logan's well-known house–museum and is one of the city's oldest buildings. The Mayes family played a significant role in our local history and they built Mayes Cottage in 1887. The cottage is situated on a hill in Kingston and is surrounded by gardens and fruit trees. It’s open from Thursdays to Saturdays, 10:30am to 4:00pm. Entry is free and tours are available.

Yugambeh Museum

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and heritage is an important part of our community. At Yugambeh Museum Language and Heritage Research Centre you can explore the history, language and culture of the original people in our area.

Yugambeh Museum is open to the public on Wednesdays from 10.00am to 2.00pm, or by appointment.
