Contact a vehicle dismantler for disposal or recycling. Some companies will come and pick up the vehicle from your property and pay you for it.

  • all metal parts will be accepted for free
  • non-metal car parts will need to be inspected to ensure they are saleable and may be subject to disposal fees.

Christmas tree You can dispose of this to our waste and recycling facilities.

Empty disposable gas canisters can be placed in metal recycling bins at our waste and recycling facilities. Note: these canisters cannot be placed in kerbside recycling or waste bins. 

Gas - helium party balloon canisters (empty)  Empty disposable helium canisters can be placed in the LPG gas cages at each of our waste and recycling facilities. Canisters with gas can be only be accepted at our household chemical drop off days. Please visit Paint and chemical disposal for more information. 
Glass (bottles / jars) Recycling bin
Glass (plate / window) – whole You can dispose of these at our waste and recycling facilities
Glass (plate / window) – broken General waste bin or take to our waste and recycling facilities.
Glasses (eye) You can take these to some Lions Clubs and optometrists, call in advance

Motor oil - no more than 25L You can take this to any of our waste and recycling facilities. If you have more than 25 litres of oil you can dispose of it at a cost of 40 cents per litre.
