Big LED screen in the Beenleigh Town Square

The screen in Beenleigh Town Square is used regularly for movie nights and community events.
Beenleigh Town Square Shade Solution
We will install a unique shade canopy designed by local artists to provide more shade, colour and feature lighting.
The Beenleigh Town Square Shade Solution is a joint initiative of Logan City Council and the Queensland Government.
Progress update
Construction is progressing as expected. We expect to complete the shade solution by 30 June 2021.
- Installation of poles and shade discs will begin in late April and take approximately 8 weeks to install.
- An official opening of the Beenleigh Town Square Shade Solution will take place in July 2021.
- Regular events will recommence in the Town Square in late July/August 2021. These include markets, movie nights and other programs.
Beenleigh Streetscape Upgrades
We will enhance key streets and laneways to improve public safety and access through wider footpaths, improved signage and more pedestrian crossings.
We will also increase pedestrian activity to support local businesses through enhanced seating and feature lighting.
The Beenleigh Streetscape Upgrades is a joint initiative of Logan City Council and the Queensland Government.

Beenleigh Implementation Plan (2019)
On 28 August 2018 Council approved the Beenleigh Implementation Plan (PDF 6.4 MB). This plan guides the delivery of priority projects and programs in Beenleigh. It builds on the aims of the Beenleigh Town Centre Master Plan and includes outcomes from the Beenleigh Summit (held in October 2017).
An updated plan was endorsed on 26 February 2019 and many priority projects are underway.
Beenleigh Centre Advisory Group (December 2018)
The Beenleigh Centre Advisory Group (BCAG) represented local residents, businesses, property owners, retailers and other stakeholders. Between December 2018 and November 2020 BCAG provided input and guidance to Council on the detailed design and delivery of the Beenleigh Implementation Fund Projects.
Beenleigh Summit (October 2017)
The Beenleigh Summit was a free event held on 25 October 2017 that focused on unlocking the economic potential of Beenleigh. It brought together experts in urban design, infrastructure policy, urban innovation and development to share national and international ideas to make Beenleigh an interesting and exciting place to visit, work, live, play and do business.

Beenleigh Town Square (November 2015)
The Beenleigh Town Square was a catalyst project identified in the Beenleigh Town Centre Master Plan. The space, officially opened on 6 November 2015, can host a variety of events including markets, local festivals and concerts.
For more information, please see Beenleigh Town Square.
Beenleigh Town Centre Master Plan (May 2011)
We prepared a master plan to guide future growth in the Beenleigh town centre and give a strategic framework for managing growth in Beenleigh over the next 20 years. The plan, completed in September 2011, presented a vision to transform the town's centre, with clear proposals for land use, building, public spaces, and pedestrian and traffic movement. This plan provided the background for the Beenleigh Local Plan, which has been incorporated into the Logan Planning Scheme (refer to the Beenleigh Local Plan in Part 7) and now guides decision making in this area.
