Underwood Road Bus Turnaround
- Project typeCompleted road upgrades

Latest update
The project is now complete.
The Translink 578 bus service commenced at this stop at 6:00am on Monday 20 January 2025.
Project overview
We are making it easier and safer to visit one of our city's most popular cultural and sporting precincts at Underwood Road, Priestdale.
We have converted the end of Underwood Road into a sealed cul-de-sac, and constructed a new, designated bus passenger set down area in front of the Fo Guang Shan Chung Tian Temple. These changes have enabled a Translink route extension to service the temple and benefit users and visitors of the Underwood Park sporting and community precinct.
This local upgrade was delivered under our Protocol and Grants Program, funded in part by the Australian Government's Investing in Our Communities Program.
Project features
The upgrade includes:
- construction of a new cul-de-sac, including kerb and channel, at the end of Underwood Road
- a dedicated passenger set down area for buses outside the Fo Guang Shan Chung Tian Temple
- extension of the existing footpath at Underwood Park to the end of Underwood Road
- improved stormwater drainage
- a new entrance to the driveway at the Daisy Hill Conservation Park, and nearby retaining wall to reduce erosion
- road resurfacing from the Underwood Park access road to the end of Underwood Road.
