Community Events Funding

This funding provides financial support for events that celebrate Logan’s diversity and inclusiveness. Events delivered by the community for our community are valued for the experiences and opportunities they provide.

Grants are open for organisations that meet the “community purpose” in our Grants to Community Organisations Policy(PDF, 158KB). This is defined as activities that:

• encourage a vibrant, engaged and resilient community
• build on the strengths in the local community
• value local collaboration and partnerships
• encourage participation in community life and foster social cohesion
• promote and encourage environmental protection and sustainability
• support our city vision of ‘City of Logan, a green city full of pride, opportunity and culture’
• support our Corporate Plan priorities.

Eligibility

Before applying, please download and read the eligibility and assessment criteria in the Community Event Funding Guidelines(PDF, 281KB).

Application timeframes

Small Event Grants

• Applications are received in highly competitive rounds per year.
• We encourage you to submit your application as early as possible (at least 3 months prior to the event date).
• Please note we cannot fund events that are held before the outcomes are advised.

Note: Further rounds will be announced at a later date.

Event Sponsorship Funding

• Applications are received in highly competitive rounds per year.
• We encourage you to submit your application as early as possible (at least 6 months prior to the event date).
• Please note we cannot fund events that are held before the outcomes are advised.

How to apply

Applications must be made through SmartyGrants:

• Small Events Grant application form
• Event Sponsorship Funding application form

Please note that you will be required to log in to SmartyGrants, and we suggest using the SmartyFile login feature to maintain your applications.

Incomplete or hard copy applications will not be accepted.

Community event bins

Eligible community organisations hosting a community event within Logan can apply for up to $400 per financial year to use towards 240L standard or recycle bins for events.

Applicants must be an organisation operating within Logan. Applications will be accepted from the following:

• Community organisations
• Community based sporting groups
• Eligible charities
• State schools
