Video and audio recordings

Ordinary Council meetings and Committee meetings are video live-streamed. The live-stream and subsequent video uploads are available on Council’s YouTube page.

Types of Council meetings

Water, Waste and Energy, Natural Areas Committee

Provides direction and leadership in the areas of water infrastructure, water service delivery and performance, environmental health and immunisation programs, environmental management, waste and recycling services, and parks.

City Shape, Economic Transformation and Transport Committee

Provides direction and leadership in the areas of road infrastructure, road planning and design, asset management, road construction and maintenance, plant fleet, development assessment and engineering, building certification, planning appeals, land use and infrastructure planning and policy, growth management, economic development and strategy and tourism.

Thriving Community Committee

Provides direction and leadership in the areas of sport and community infrastructure, community development, Transform Logan and advocacy, corporate communications, including media, city safety and liveability, library services, art galleries and creative industries, cultural services, customer service and information and venues and events.

Governance and Transformation Committee

Provides direction and leadership in the areas of corporate planning, corporate governance, including conduct breach matters, finance, property, legal services, information technology services, crisis and disaster management and people and culture.

Ordinary Council

Standard meetings where the Mayor and Councillors conduct their core business and make formal decisions

Special Budget Committee

Considers matters related to the preparation and adoption of Council’s annual budget and operational plan

Special Council meetings

Special meetings are called when urgent business arises that cannot be delayed until the next ordinary meeting

Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) Meetings

ARC meetings are not open to the public.

The ARC provides independent oversight and advice on matters such as risk management, internal controls and audit processes. Holding these meetings in closed session allows sensitive financial, risk and compliance issues to be examined in detail, helping to strengthen Council’s governance and accountability. In accordance with the Local Government Regulation 2012, the matters reviewed by the ARC and its recommendations are reported to Council by the Chief Executive Officer in a public report.

Meeting reports

Reports (except for ARC meetings) are available in the agenda. Reports classified as confidential under section 254J of the Local Government Regulation 2012 may not be available to the public.

Local Government and Committee Meeting Code

The Local Government and Committee Meeting Code(PDF, 2MB) and the Supplementary Council and Committee Meeting Code(PDF, 676KB) provide rules for the orderly and proper conduct of all council meetings.

Legislative notice

In accordance with section 254B of the Local Government Regulation 2012, Council must publish the days and times of its ordinary and standing committee meetings at least once each year.

Council complies with this requirement through its adopted meeting schedule. The schedule of meeting days and times for 2026, as adopted by Ordinary Council in March 2026, is available below:
