Apply for short-term accommodation
Before you apply, refer to Before you start for information about planning, building and plumbing approvals that may be needed.
To apply:
Delays in the assessment and approval process will occur if you don’t include all of the required information.
Process once application is submitted
- Submit your application and plans using the approved form. You are responsible for ensuring the application is complete.
- We will review your application and plans and contact you if we need more information to process the application.
- When we approve your plans, you may begin the fit out. Your building certifier and licensed plumber will advise if any building or plumbing approvals are required.
- When you finish the fit out, contact us.
- Council may inspect the premises before making a decision.
- When we approve your licence application, you can start running your short-term accommodation business in line with the approved conditions.
Renovations and alterations
If you are making changes like renovating an existing licensed short-term accommodation business you will need to download and complete the Local Law Licence Short Term Accommodation Application Form(PDF, 728KB) to amend your licence.
Licence transfers
If you are buying a short-term accommodation business with an existing licence, you will need to apply for a transfer of that licence.
You might want to consider a presale inspection before buying a licensed short-term accommodation premises.
