Release of impounded vehicles before auction

To claim ownership of an impounded vehicle, please contact us on phone 07 3412 3412.

Proof of ownership is required, and fees apply. Please refer to our Impounded vehicles page for fees.

Auction conditions

  • Buyer registration (ID required) and viewing available from 8:00am to 10:00am.
  • Vehicles sold in current condition, unregistered and no warranty is provided.
  • Full payment in cash, EFTPOS or bank transfer is required by 12:00pm the same day.
  • Vehicles paid for by bank transfer will only be released once receipt of payment is confirmed.
  • Vehicles must be collected by 3:00pm the next day or the payment is forfeited.
  • Purchasers must make arrangements to legally tow vehicles from Council's Depot. For safety reasons, the buyer of an unregistered vehicle(s) must arrange for a licensed tow truck (tray back) to transport the vehicle from Council's impounded vehicle holding yard. The use of car trailers is not permitted.
  • Council reserves the right to withdraw any vehicle from an advertised auction without prior notice.
  • Enclosed footwear must be worn.
  • Children must be supervised by an adult.
  • Animals, smoking and alcohol are not permitted in Depot grounds.
  • Access is from Plantation Rd and on-street parking is available.
