General rate category statement

Our general rate category statement can be found within our Rates and charges information brochure(PDF, 122KB).

The document explains each of our general rating categories, the criteria, the applicable minimum charges, and the applicable rate in the dollars. Please refer to our Annual Budget document for any additional information.

Objecting to your rate category

If you believe your land has been placed in the wrong rating category as shown on your rate notice, you can lodge an objection. To do this:

  • Complete the online Official objection form within 30 days of the issue date shown on your rate notice, Council has 60 days to process the objection, or
  • download the Official objection form(PDF, 217KB) and submit the completed form and supporting documentation at one of our customer service centres within 30 days of the issue date shown on your rate notice.
Lodging an objection does not change the amount shown on your current rates notice. You must still pay the full amount by the due date. Council has 60 days to review and process your objection. If your objection is upheld, an adjustment will appear on your next rates notice.
