Paint
Never put paint in the bin
Paint should not be put in household recycling or garbage bins, as they can negatively affect the environment and human health. Dropping off paint or chemicals for recycling reduces these impacts, as well as the costs associated with incorrect hazardous waste disposal.
Paint disposal
We accept household and commercial paint free of charge at all Council waste and recycling facilities through the National Paintback Scheme.
You can take containers with a combined volume of up to 100 litres per visit to all Council waste and recycling facilities. The maximum container size accepted is 20 litres.
We accept:
- paint
- deck coatings
- primers
- sealers
- stains
- shellacs
- varnishes
- urethanes.
We have separate areas for water-based and oil-based products. Please check the label on the container and place them in the appropriate area.
