Health conditions - water concessions and water restriction exemptions
Home dialysis
If you use water for home dialysis or to manage a medical condition, you may be eligible for a concession on your water usage charges.
Our Health conditions water concessions and exemptions to water restrictions procedure(PDF, 765KB) allows concessions for the water used by a renal dialysis unit or for treating a medical condition that needs a significant amount of water.
Property owners
If you own your home, Queensland Health will notify us directly when you are eligible. They will estimate the amount of water you are likely to use based on based on your treatment schedule. We will apply a concession using their estimate.
Tenants
If you rent your home, you will need to apply for the concession. You can download and fill in the Home dialysis concession application for tenants(PDF, 112KB) and email it along with a receipt confirming you have paid for the water to council@logan.qld.gov.au.
Other medical treatment
You can apply in writing for a concession if you use a large amount of water to treat another medical condition. Applications will need to meet the requirements outlined in the Health conditions water concessions and exemptions to water restrictions procedure(PDF, 765KB).
Exemptions to water restrictions
Exemptions from water restrictions may be granted for residential properties in the City of Logan where there are valid health or safety reasons.
