Citizenship ceremonies

The final step in becoming an Australian citizen is to make a Pledge of Commitment at a citizenship ceremony.

The Department of Home Affairs facilitates the citizenship application process. If you have any questions about becoming an Australian citizen, please visit the Department of Home Affairs website or call 131 881.

Attending a ceremony

The Department of Home Affairs manages the allocation of candidates to a ceremony. Logan City Council hosts citizenship ceremonies and issues invitations. Invitations will be sent via email to allocated candidates approximately 4 weeks before the ceremony date.

  • Monday 10 November 2025 (3 ceremonies)

Approximately 200 candidates are invited to attend each ceremony.

How will I receive my invitation?

All invitations are sent out via email. Invitations are sent to the email addresses provided to Logan City Council, by the Department of Home Affairs.

What happens if I have changed my contact details?

If you have updated your contact details, pleaseupdate your ImmiAccount or contact the Department of Home Affairs by emailing ceremony.qld@homeaffairs.gov.au.

What happens if I cannot attend my ceremony?

If you are unable to attend the Citizenship Ceremony of your first invitation, we will note that you did not attend your allocated ceremony, and you will receive a letter of non-attendance from the Department of Home Affairs.

Then you will be allocated to another ceremony and issued an invitation. Second time non-attendance may impact your Citizenship approval.
