Bayliss Road Upgrade

Latest updates
July 2025 - The project is currently funded to preliminary design and property acquisition.
The land had been gazetted by the State Government.
Project overview
We are designing a project to provide a new road connection between Green Road and Park Ridge Road.
With our city's population set to increase by more than 50 percent by 2041, improving our road network is one of the ways Logan City Council is preparing for the future.
As part of this, we are planning a long-term upgrade to provide a new road connection between Green Road and Park Ridge Road. The new road will extend Bayliss Road in a south-westerly direction and will connect with Park Ridge Road to the east of Jedfire Park.
The upgrade provides better connectivity between the busy Park Ridge Road, Green Road and beyond.
The Bayliss Road extension is one of the many new road connections planned to support Park Ridge's increasing traffic demand.
Project timing
Preliminary design is complete. At this stage we do not have a timeline for detailed design work and construction.
We will keep the community updated as the project progresses.
Project features
The design includes:
- one vehicle travel lane in each direction
- one transit lane in each direction
- new intersections with dedicated turning lanes and traffic signals at:
- the proposed connection of the Bayliss Road extension with Park Ridge Road
- the proposed new intersection of the Bayliss Road extension with a new Urban Collector Road proposed to connect through to Jedfire Park
- the intersection of the Bayliss Road extension with Green Road
- unsignalised intersections with Waller Road and Pearl Street
- new bike riding and pedestrian facilities including a shared pathway.
Project benefits
The Bayliss Road Upgrade project will deliver a range of benefits, including:
- improved traffic flows
- more reliable travel times
- safer intersections
- greener modes of transport with more public and active transport options.
Land requirements
In late 2020, we contacted property owners to discuss potential property impacts as a result of the necessary upgrade.
The project is currently funded to preliminary design and property acquisition.
