Grants for schools and P&C Associations

1. Overview

Logan City Council offers a range of grants to support community initiatives. Schools and Parents & Citizens Associations (P&Cs) are eligible for several programs, each with specific criteria and limitations.

Grant programs

Community Development Funding – Community Project Grants (CPG)

Eligibility

Schools and P&Cs can apply for up to $10,000 if the project benefits the broader Logan community – not just students.

Important notes

Projects cannot be for the exclusive benefit of customers, members and students of an organisation or school.

Community Events Funding (CEF)

Eligibility

Schools and P&Cs can apply for:

  • up to $5,000 for a Small Events Grant
  • between $5,001 to $20,000 for Event Sponsorship Funding
Important notes

Eligible events cannot be for the exclusive benefit of one audience (example customers, members or students) except when supporting milestone anniversaries or rare celebration occasions in a school environment.

Eligibility

Schools and P&Cs can apply for:

  • up to $10,000 for On-ground Ecosystem Restoration
  • up to $10,000 for Environmental Surveys and Research
  • up to $2,000 for Environmental Education

Sport and Recreation Grants - Active People (Travel assistance grants) and Active Spaces (Maintenance)

Eligibility

Not suitable for schools or P&Cs

Important notes

Alternatively, individual students may apply for up to $500 for the Active People - Travel Assistance Grant to support participation in state, national, or international sports.

Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF)

Eligibility

Schools: Ineligible

P&Cs: Eligible as non-profit organisations under these categories:

  • Skills Development - $1,000 to $3,000
  • Quick Response – Up to $1,000
  • Cultural Tourism/Creative Project – $3,000 to $5,000
  • Regional Partnerships - $5,000 to $10,000
  • Council Strategic Initiative - $5,000 to $10,000
Important notes

RADF is unable to fund school arts activities except where those activities form part of broader community cultural development processes or are part of professional arts development.

Community Benefit Fund (CBF) - Councillors’ discretionary funding

Eligibility

Schools and P&Cs are eligible to apply.

Important notes

Applications are open until 30 April each year or until divisional funds are expended. Please allow up to 4 weeks for your application to be processed and the outcome to be advised.

It is recommended you contact your local councillor prior to submitting your application. Please ensure that your project or activity is not eligible for another Council grant before considering CBF.

2. Other information

Overdue debts or acquittals with Logan City Council

Applicants with overdue debts to Logan City Council (example rates, hall hire fees) or outstanding acquittals from previous funding are ineligible for all funding programs.
