Logan City Council Administration Centre Precinct
You can apply to temporarily use:
- Parklands surrounding the City Administration Centre
- Car parks within the City Administration Centre precinct
All events in these areas require written approval.
Conditions you must meet
If your event is approved, the following conditions apply.
Public Liability Insurance
- You must provide a Certificate of Currency for $20 million Public Liability Insurance.
- Logan City Council must be listed as an interested party.
- Insurance must be received 14 days before your event.
Waste and cleaning
- You are responsible for providing extra bins if needed.
- All event waste must be collected and removed to Council’s satisfaction.
- Any excess waste that does not fit into precinct bins must be taken away at your cost.
- You may be eligible to apply for free bins for your community event if your organisation is operating in Logan and is one of the following:
- a community organisation
- a community based sporting group
- an eligible charity
- a state school.
Requests depend on the availability of Council’s waste contractor service. Once the budget has been exhausted, we will no longer be able to accept or approve further applications.
If you do not meet the eligibility criteria for Council’s free event bin hire, you can still apply to hire bins for your upcoming event. For a list of fees, to apply and find out how to pay, please download and fill in our Application for Casual Special Event Bins form.
Toilets
- If additional toilets are required, you must supply and service them.
- Facilities must meet Council standards.
Noise
- Noise must comply with:
- Logan City Council Local Laws
- Environmental Protection (Noise) Policy 2008
- Event organisers must control sound levels and minimise disturbance.
Food stalls
If you plan to prepare or sell food, you must obtain an approved temporary food permit before the event.
Health and safety
- Your event must comply with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
- You are responsible for ensuring the safety of staff, volunteers and participants.
Fireworks
- Fireworks are strictly prohibited anywhere in the Council Administration Centre precinct.
- Heavy penalties apply for non‑compliance.
Your responsibilities
Event organisers must:
- follow all directions from Council staff
- avoid damage to Council property
- leave the area in a clean and tidy condition
- ensure all activities are safe, lawful and respectful of the precinct and surrounding uses
- comply with any conditions of approval.
How your application is assessed
When reviewing your application, Council considers:
- Safety and risk
- Environmental impacts
- Noise and community impacts
- Space availability
- Compliance with relevant laws and policies
- Your previous compliance history (if applicable)
Extra conditions may apply depending on the type, scale or risk level of your event.
How to apply
To request temporary use of the precinct:
- Submit your application in writing to Council’s Corporate Property Branch by email to faciliites@logan.qld.gov.au
- Include all details of your proposed event or activity.
- Provide any supporting documents required (see below).
Council will review your request and may approve it, approve it with conditions, request further information or refuse the application.
