Green waste bins order

Green waste bins are an easy and affordable way for residents and businesses to dispose of garden waste. They are environmentally friendly as they help to keep green waste from landfill, reducing greenhouse emissions.

You can choose the following green waste bin sizes:

• small - 140 litre - $82 a year (holds a maximum weight of 40 kilograms)
• medium - 240 litre - $86 a year (holds a maximum weight of 70 kilograms)
• large - 360 litre - $125 a year (holds a maximum weight of 90 kilograms)

Green waste bins are collected on the opposite fortnight to the recycle bin.

You can request a maximum of two bins per property. We will need to assess requests for more than two bins.

Order a green waste bin

To order a green waste bin, please:

• refer to our conditions of service below
• Complete our online form, or
• download and fill in the Ratepayers green waste bin application(PDF, 638KB) and return it to us.

We will deliver the green waste bin to the kerbside in 1 to 2 business days. The charge for your green waste bin will be added to your rates.

Check with your body corporate or property manager if you are in a unit complex, to make sure there is enough storage and presentation room for the extra bin. Approval from the body corporate or property manager is required for units. We will need to assess requests for more than two bins.

Tenants are no longer able to order green waste bins. Green waste bins can be ordered through the property owner or property agent.

Conditions of service

By completing the application form online, you hereby apply for the additional waste service and declare that the particulars contained in your application are correct in every detail. You agree by transmitting the application electronically to Logan City Council it has the same status as if it were signed.

By submitting this request for a green waste bin, you acknowledge the following:

• Once Council is satisfied that the bins have been delivered to the property, charges will be added on the rates account for the property.
• Charges will cease upon the service being cancelled by the property owner and Council has collected the bins.
• Council will charge your rate account for the service irrespective of whether you place your bin out for collection or not. Refunds for periodic non-use of the service are not permitted.
• Should collection be missed due to operational issues, refunds will not be provided, however Council will make best endeavours to offer a catch-up service upon request.
• By agreeing to these conditions of service, you agree to only use the bin for its intended purpose as advertised by Logan City Council. Failure to do this could result in the removal of the bin without refund.
