Never put chemicals in the bin.

Chemicals should not be put in household recycling or garbage bins, as they can negatively affect the environment and human health. Dropping off chemicals for recycling reduces these impacts, as well as the costs associated with incorrect hazardous waste disposal.

Free household chemical drop-off days

Logan residents can dispose of household chemicals free of charge on special chemical drop-off days.

Items accepted on chemical drop-off days

On chemical drop-off days, Logan residents can dispose of up to 10 litres of each of the chemicals listed below.

When bringing your chemicals to chemical drop-off days, please consider the following:

• To prevent spillages and incidents, please make sure your containers are sealed and in good condition (not leaking).
• We will not accept materials that do not fall into the categories described above. 
• When you drop off the chemicals, we will keep the containers they are in.
• We accept paint for recycling at all our waste facilities any time.
• We accept up to 25 litres of motor oil and cooking oil at our waste facilities at any time. Volumes of motor oil greater than that are charged at $0.40 per litre.
• Residents need to be able to unload items themselves and place them on a table. Council staff are not able to assist.
