Community invited to have their say on Logan Flood Portal

Logan City Council has invited the community to have their say on proposed improvements to how information is displayed in the Logan Flood Portal.
The portal is Council’s tool for sharing flood information with the community.
Mayor Jon Raven said Council is looking at updating how flood maps are presented on the Portal landing page following feedback from community.
"The Flood Portal is an important tool for people to learn how floods may impact their property, local roads or property they’re looking to buy,” Mayor Raven said.
“The most relevant information needs to be the quickest to find, but we won’t make any changes until our community has told us which option they prefer.
“Now is the time to have your say. Your voice matters. Your feedback will help guide how Council shares this important information.”
A survey is now open on Council’s Have Your Say Logan website, which provides three options to simplify the Flood Portal’s landing page.
It also asks people to prioritise what mapping information should be included in an additional, simplified flood report.
Mayor Raven said Council was listening to residents and was committed to meeting the community’s expectations.
“We know how much this matters to the community, which is why we will continue to update our residents throughout this process,” he said.
“To make it easy to find information about the work we are doing on flood mapping, we have recently launched a web page with updates, a timeline and progress of our work to change the delivery of flood mapping in Logan.”
The potential improvements are based on community feedback about flood risk mapping, as part of Council’s new draft planning scheme, Logan Plan.
Any changes to the Logan Flood Portal will occur after the Have Your Say survey is completed.
