Art and nature to take centre stage
An Art and Nature Symposium on Saturday, August 22 will explore connections between art, nature and the local environment, as the Where do I belong? exhibition at Logan Art Gallery comes to a close.
The event will run from 10am to 4pm and guest speakers will include leading conservation scientist Professor Hugh Possingham, raptor researcher Keith Fisher as well as the exhibition's curator and featured artists.
Entry is free for the curator and artists' talks.
A small fee applies to the rest of the program, including a screening of Flyways, a documentary following scientists and bird enthusiasts as they track shorebirds on their annual migrations across the globe.

Share your story on Logan’s resilience
Residents affected by Cyclone Alfred have one month left to contribute to Logan City Council’s Stories of Resilience Project, with submissions closing on Monday, August 31.
The initiative celebrates the kindness, courage and community spirit that helped Logan recover from the March 2025 disaster.
Council is seeking stories of neighbours helping neighbours, volunteers, community organisations and emergency services making a difference.
Submissions are welcomed in a range of formats including written stories, photos, social media posts and podcast interviews.
The insights gathered will help inform future disaster preparedness, recovery and resilience planning.
