Responsible waste management is a shared responsibility

Responsible waste management is a shared responsibility with all of us responsible for reducing the amount of waste we produce; recycling or reusing everything that we can; and safely disposing of all remaining waste that cannot be reused or recycled.

What, how and where to recycle - Many household items can be recycled, but some cannot be placed in kerbside recycling bins.  Learn what can be placed in kerbside recycling bins and what can be taken to Council’s waste and recycling facilities.  

Reuse what can be reused – Donate clothes or suitable household items to charities or for resale at the Logan Recycling Market.  Suitable items can be dropped off for free at council waste and recycling facilities. 

Safe disposal of hazardous household items - Some common household items are dangerous if placed in kerbside bins or in waste bins at waste facilities.  Batteries, electronic waste, gas bottles and chemicals are examples of items that need to be disposed in specific ways/places so that people and the environment are protected.  Council’s webpages provide the information you need to keep your family, our neighbourhoods and waste collection staff safe.
