Find your place in Logan's volunteer parks community
Residents interested in staying active and making a positive impact on the local environment are invited to an information day for Logan City Council's Parks volunteer program.
Volunteers can get involved in the BushCare, TrailCare and ParkCare programs, which restore natural areas, maintain trails, protect wildlife habitats and support community education activities.
A session on how to create and maintain sustainable trails, with the option to sign-up as a TrailCare volunteer, will be held from 12pm to 4.30pm on Saturday, September 26 at Tudor Park trail network adjacent to the Kingston East Neighbourhood Centre.
Information days are an opportunity to learn about the volunteer pathways and different roles while meeting current volunteers.

Upgrade works for Distillery Road
Works will begin in late September to upgrade and rehabilitate a section of Distillery Road in Eagleby that has deteriorated over time.
The project will include reconstruction of the road base, road widening and resurfacing to improve safety and driving conditions for road users.
Works are expected to continue until mid-February 2027.
To minimise disruption to residents, businesses and motorists, construction will be delivered in stages, with one side of the road reconstructed at a time to maintain access along Distillery Road throughout the project.
Works will pause over Christmas and New Year before resuming in early January.
Explore career in early childhood education at jobs expo
Logan locals are invited to explore a career in early childhood education and care at Early Childhood Workforce Connect on Thursday, September 17.
The free event, running from 10am to 2pm at KENG's Tudor Park Community Recreation Centre in Loganholme, is designed to connect prospective educators with local childcare services, training providers and industry professionals.
Attendees can learn about qualifications, training options and career pathways, as well as meet with local employers who have current vacancies and traineeship opportunities.
The initiative is supported by Logan City Council, Workforce Australia Local Jobs Brisbane South East, LoganJobs.com.au, the Logan Office of Economic Development, and KENG.
The event reflects Council's ongoing commitment to workforce attraction and employment initiatives through the Logan Office of Economic Development.
