Green bin a great deal
Logan City Council is encouraging more households to sign up for a green waste bin, to help save space in general waste bins.
The green bin service costs less than $2 a week and includes fortnightly kerbside collection of grass clippings, leaves and other garden waste.
Garden waste currently makes up around 15 per cent of the average household bin in Logan.
Three bin sizes are available to suit different household needs and green waste volumes.
Green waste collected through the service is composted and reused in local parks, gardens and on agricultural land rather than being sent to landfill.

Mayes Avenue upgrades underway
Logan City Council has started kerb and channel rehabilitation works on Mayes Avenue in Kingston, to improve the street’s stormwater resilience.
The project will include the replacement of kerb and channel where required.
The project is expected to be completed by late October, weather and site conditions permitting.
Temporary traffic changes, including reduced speed limits and turning lane closures, may be in place while works are underway.
Council will work closely with residents and businesses to maintain property access and minimise disruption during construction.
